Resigning from Accenture – Need advice on notice period, workload & BGV

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working at Accenture as a DevOps Engineer. Due to extreme project pressure and burnout, I’ve decided to put in my papers. I have a 90-day notice period, and my plan is to use this time mainly for interview prep and upskilling so I can switch to a better role.

Given the current workload, I’m considering doing the bare minimum (or close to it) on the project during my notice period so I can focus more on preparation. However, I have a few concerns:

  1. Work ethics & consequences:

If I don’t contribute much during these 90 days, what actions can management/HR realistically take? Can they terminate me early or delay/withhold relieving or experience letters?

  2. Background verification (BGV):

Does low productivity or “quiet quitting” during the notice period impact BGV with future employers? Is there a risk of being marked as “Not Eligible for Rehire” or having negative remarks added?

  3. Exit formalities / experience:

Has anyone here gone through a similar exit from Accenture? How did you balance project expectations with interview prep?

I do want to leave on decent terms, but the current pressure is making it very difficult to prepare effectively while working full throttle.

Would really appreciate any insights or real experiences from folks who’ve been through this.

Thanks in advance!
