I heard a stray cat in heat outside, so I called “here, kitty kitty” and put food on the windowsill for her. 10 mins later..

Sir, you are not a cat 🤣

When David Beckham was red carded in the 1998 World Cup, fans made an effigy of him being swung by a noose.

One fan threw a TV through a third-floor window, and in tabloid headlines and according to pundits, Beckham was vilified, his World Cup performance described as “childish,” “petulant” and “stupid”. “Wherever I went, I got abused, every single day. To walk down the street and see people look at you in a certain way, spit at you, abuse you, come up to your face and say some of the things that they said. That’s difficult.” Beckham adds, “The whole country hated me.”

"Kathy found bullets in letters," said his father said, referring to Kath Phipps, who worked as a receptionist at Manchester United at the time. "So the club had to get the police in because of the threats to him."

David was also worried that his son would get kidnapped because of the amount of hate he received. Beckham said that the night Brooklyn was born, he slept by the door out of fear somebody would try and take his son.

"That night, Brooklyn slept next to Victoria. Victoria was like, 'Come and squeeze on the bed with me,' and I said, 'Absolutely not,'" he recalled.

"I'm sleeping with my head against the door because I was paranoid someone was going to steal him," he said. "It's meant to be a happy moment, and it was, of course. But I was worried."

https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/the-chicks-2003-george-bush-controversy-that-changed-country-music/

In 2003, the band stated between songs in London: “Just so you know,” she said between songs, “We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.”

This led to their songs being pulled from country music stations around the US, parties where people would destroy their tapes, and they were effectively cancelled. I find it interesting that they received so much backlash when today’s celebrities are often called out if they don’t share their political opinions.
