Bought an avatar scene box that came with a 10 dollar gift card

I bought it for the Toph, and avatar aang was a side project I’d eventually get to once I had enough bulk to build him with.

My friend wants to sell his old Pokemon cards. We’re thinking of taking it to an LGS, but what are some better options if available?

Update: We took it to a few LGS and 3 of them said they weren’t interested while two others offered up to 15 bucks store credit.

Give me a list of games you want to play and I’ll buy something. I’d rather not buy arc raiders a second time so I’m looking to buy something I don’t already own across multiple game launchers/consoles.

Pretty bummed I wasn’t able to get a mystery booster 2 box from MagicCon, but will they be available for another MagicCon? Everything I’ve read up on has only talked about the Vegas ones.

I get that the lines were long and expected it, but this post has nothing to do with that. My issues were the staff and vendors that made this a disappointing experience for me.

I was excited to go to my first MagicCon this year, and went to a pre-celebration event that did a Baldur’s Gate commander draft party at an LGS. It was fun, but I met a judge that would be part of the staff and showed off his custom play mat with his name on it sent to him by WoTC. We were put in the same pod, but as we talked more and more he became more arrogant, belittling, and kind of a cheater despite saying he was a judge and not follow rules that would hurt him. I played a deck that with my commander that lets me put a spell to the bottom of my deck and play the next no land card for free. When I casted an adventure spell he got upset and told me I couldn’t do that despite the other players and judges there saying that it was 100% legal. He was pretty bitter and pissed off the whole game, but I thought I didn’t think much of it till the next day.

Day 1 of the con, my friend and I show up to a draft on demand event, sign up for it, and start sitting down. The guy that set us up asked us if we had any questions about how it works, and only one person at the table kind of knew so he explained it as “Yea, just fill out this paper and call us when you’re done” and left us to do our own thing. We struggled to figure out how the paper worked and marked off the hexagons we weren’t supposed to fill out, and getting our points were took a bit to verify what happened with who because some people left early not knowing they were supposed to wait.

After that draft we went up to the official magic store whose line was basically fully cleared. We got with a staff member that looked like he wanted nothing to do with us, barely spoke, and got annoyed when we asked for an item that was out of stock because it was one of the things he forgot to mark off on his list. As soon as I paid for everything, I overheard another staff member offer someone else a promo card if they bought 100+ worth of stuff. Since I had just paid I asked him if I could just buy something else to make up the 20 bucks I was short on to get the promo card. He told me he couldn’t, but thankfully the lady next to him overheard and said she would so I bought the headset and thanked her.

Up next my friend and I went to the vendors, and man did it feel like searching for someone that would scalp us the least. I get that it’s a major con, but I saw multiple cards being listed for 5-10 over their NM listings online. I think I only found two vendors that actually had decent prices compared to everyone else.

Finally we heard that we should pick up the premium ticket merch last to avoid the line. We asked a staff member which line we should go to, and he pointed us to a very nice lady. However the guy next to her asked us in a condescending way “What does my sign say?” like we couldn’t read. The lady gave me my merch, but the guy gave my friend some attitude and asked him “So do you just want the coupons or what else?” even though we were both wearing our premium badges.

We left pretty disappointed, but I’m hoping next years would be better.

Edit:
I bought the jersey, not headset.

Also another thing the judge did from that commander party was that he didn’t track commander damage dealt to him, but he was tracking commander damage from the same creature to other players.

Short about 10% “value wise.” Don’t think you’ll get as lucky as these other posts cause odds are you end up like me, but hopefully you don’t.

I plan on skipping this set for draft, and just opening two of the special bundles I have coming in later.
