I was bored and made a padlock shim out of a soda can from a tutorial I saw on youtube, and followed every step perfectly. However, once I got to testing I found that I could get the shim in but it gets blocked by something in the lock and refuses to eitehr budge or unlock the padlock. I have a generic Masterlock padlock (the type used on school lockers) in case it helps, but I'm just wondering if that method has been patched in recent iterations of these locks or if it never worked, and what other methods there are to get into these kinds of locks for a beginner.

Also Im new to this sub and IDK how strictly rule 2 is applied but given all of the warnings I'm just going to clarify that it is not attached to anything and is just sitting in a drawer as I've forgotten the code over time. I'll attach an image just in case.
