Our 3.5 year old said something really creepy and we’re just wondering if this is normal toddler imagination ?!?

My son (we’ll call him Aiden) is super bubbly, happy, hyper, talkative, imaginative little boy . Loves pretend play , building scenes with his blocks and figures and cars and doing little voices for the cars and animals. All normal pretend play stuff . He doesn’t have much screen time - maybe one or two hours of TV a week , sometimes none at all, and it’s always the New adventures of Winnie the Pooh show.

The other day he was just saying some cute normal toddler things then out of nowhere he goes “I’m gonna get rid of my family”. I’m like uhhh what was that??? He wouldn’t repeat it . Then I asked him where he heard that. He responded “the other Aiden”.

This is like totally normal creepy random shit toddlers just say right?!? I tried asking him about “the other Aiden” and he just said oh he lives at the library and reads books.

We know he has a huge imagination and it’s also possible he picked it up from the Winnie the Pooh show, because we’ve never said anything like that . But he usually only repeats stuff he’s heard from the show after he’s watched it recently , which he hasn’t in a while.

Am I being a total a**hole for being upset with my mom and sister for buying all polyester clothing for my daughter’s first birthday??

I’ve asked my mom and sister , and everyone on my fiancé’s side of the family, if they buy any clothing for our daughter, to please try to stick to cotton clothing. I asked the same of them with our 3.5 year old son, but I know it can be hard to find all cotton toddler clothing in stores sometimes.

My daughter just had her first birthday and I told everyone just to get clothing and a small toy or book to make things easy. I know my mom and sister don’t have a lot of money to spend . I know they shop at Walmart so I politely recommended Modern Moments and Carters. I even shared a few modern moments outfits like ya look how cute they are ! And all cotton!! They’re not expensive. I said 1 or 2 outfits was plenty. I even told them ya some of the polyester stuff is cute but it doesn’t hold up well in the wash

I’ll also add that before I had kids, I had my own handmade clothing business where I made and hand dyed clothing, all from hemp and organic cotton fabric. My family knows how important natural fibers are to me. They’ve known for years. They also know I have a very earthy style , I like more earthy colors, botanical, floral prints.

At the birthday party, before we opened gifts , my mom says “ya I tried to look for cotton clothing but I couldn’t find any”. We opened gifts and everything was polyester, bright neon colors. I didn’t say anything at the time , but I could tell they just found the cheapest things they could get . Again, I know Walmart had plenty of cotton options and I would have preferred one outfit that was all cotton over 3-4 outfits made from polyester.

I think the part that bothers me is that my fiancés sister always goes out of her way to buy Burt’s bees clothing , because she knows that’s what we buy the kids, and its organic cotton. And the prints are lovely - definitely my style. Earthy colors, floral prints.

I finally said something to my mom and sister about it. Like I asked u guys one simple request , it feels like you don’t even care . And I’ll add that my mom and sister and I are super close. If it was extended family I would let it go, no big deal. But it just feels like they just grabbed whatever was cheapest (they also waited until the day before her party to buy them) which just makes it feel like again they didn’t even put any thought into her gifts.

Am I being a total brat about this?
