
I built a Mac app to QuickLook FBX, GLB, OBJ and other 3D formats natively in Finder
I was working on a game project and had to deal with thousands of 3D assets (FBX, GLB, OBJ…).
The problem: macOS only QuickLooks USDZ files natively.
For everything else, I had to open a full 3D engine just to check what a file looked like.
So I built a lightweight Mac app that adds real QuickLook support for all common 3D formats directly in Finder, with instant preview, materials, textures and animations. It also has a folder browser with 3D thumbnails and a favorites system to bookmark assets.
Curious to hear if other devs here have run into the same pain point with 3D workflows on Mac.
