Feeling like I'm reading much more than I'm playing

Hello trails fans, I've been captivated by this series ever since I played the remake of sky 1st chapter, that then lead me to playing the original FC to continue the series from there. So far I have made it to the 4th entry, trails from zero and I'm loving the experience.

Now don't get me wrong, the title of the post is not an issue I have with the game, the main reason I enjoy trails so much is because of the story, while the gameplay is good and I'm a really big fan of trails' take on turn based combat, the story is the biggest reason I've fallen in love with the series getting more character interactions and the like is always a plus and in fact, I do seek the optional character events that you can find in between story missions.

However with that being said, this brings me to my question. I feel that trails from zero specifically has a ton of dialogue during the story cutscenes, like I feel that I'm reading so much more than I'm playing. My question is, is this the new standard moving forward in trails?

For more context, I do fully admit, this might be a me issue, because I am a slow reader, but I never felt like this for all of the sky triology. Maybe some of the moon doors in the third, especially the first one with tita, but other than the odd door, I felt like there was always a good balance of gameplay and story, especially because in case of sky the third, you had huge gameplay sections broken down by huge story sections, it kinda balanced each other out. With zero I've been feeling it's been like 65/70% reading and 35/30% playing.

I feel that maybe this might be a consequence of the smaller scale of the world in zero. While Crossbell might have more places to visit than your typical town in Liberl, it still feels and geographically is smaller than Liberl, so maybe because we don't have nearly as many places to explore they had to fill the downtime with more dialogue. Maybe I'm just over thinking it, but that's how I currently feel.

Again, not really an issue, I've been loving to uncover the political intricacies of Crossbell. I just want to temper my expectations, because I've been noticing my play sessions getting slightly shorter, since I need to take a break from reading here and there.
