Uptick in callers citing ChatGPT as a valid source.

YIKES. It’s getting rough out here. I’m used to people saying their friend is a friend of cop who said that I could do x, y, and z. Recently I’ve had multiple callers stating “ChatGPT said you could…” and insisting I need to do something that definitely would put my license at risk.

Had a caller insist on reading their 5 page long ChatGPT “police report” to convince me I need to enter a call.

A. There was no report to be made.

B. The supposed incident did not happen in our jurisdiction.

AI is also creating an influx of mentally ill callers. It reinforces delusions, or creates paranoia in folks. It’s insane how many new repeat callers we’re getting due to them believing AI is their friend who knows everything.

Officer Edition: There are no dumb questions, but…

Officer: So the complainant couldn’t tell the model of the vehicle nor the license plate?

So actually, as I just stated, she was hit in the face by a brick thrown from a moving car. You’re lucky she could tell it was a Honda bro. She’s not Superman. She didn’t take that shit to the dome, shake it off, and then immediately lock in to get the plates. What I said she had is what she said she had. Also, you don’t think I tried to ask??
