Feel like I’m losing hope for any permanent resolve here..23F active my entire life, have danced professionally and a runner so lots of impact my body is used to relatively my whole life. Trained for my first marathon last year (NYC) and back in September 25 started experiencing pain on impact to the point where i could not walk. Tried cortisone shots and time off and PT and ultimately had to defer as I couldn’t even run a mile without pain. 2 hip MRIs and a back MRI later and it is confirmed bursitis / GTPS on my left side. Have been extremely consistent with PT and time off running now easing back in, and still lingering in the 80% area. Have started shockwave therapy as well but not feeling any help there yet. I’m still only able to do run walk programs and if i even go slightly over what my hip can handle pain comes back for at least a few days. Feel like at this point i have to accept I can’t run a marathon but I am so determined!!
