options when it’s looking like i can’t afford my top school?
title! i got into my top school which is my top school for many reasons such as the fact that it is great for PI, in the city i 100% want to be in (my only non negotiable basically), i’ve always wanted to go there, great opportunities, etc. however, they unfortunately gave me little money, roughly 10% of tuition off a year. so all in all, not accounting for cost of living, i would have to pay far over 100k for all three years combined…
i know the very obvious answer is to go with a cheaper option, as i do have them, but the one other school im seriously considering is not in the city but in the same state (it’s also not ranked that great overall but good for PI). and the other school i like around the same about as the top school hasn’t gotten back to me and deposits are due the 15th and 17th…
is there a way to negotiate my scholarship and how do? how likely is it (i have a mid LSAT but a high GPA for reference)? do i still have a chance even though the deposit date is soon? what other options do i have, if any?
any advice at all is appreciated as i am first gen and all my other law school applicant friends r&r so its just me left!!
