Quick question

Thanks all in advance

This concerns a person who receives PIP standard daily living and standard mobility. Also receives UC and LCWRA, no housing costs , no dependents.

They have been offered an interview for a part time paid post with a charity for a wage of around £950 monthly. This would be under the "Right to try" scheme. Job expected 1-2 years, possibly longer.

With help from the group and Turn2Us it was found possible that they could receive wages of around £900 per month, and their PIP, and only have their UC reduced by about £130 a month ( a higher work allowance due to no housing costs)

This would entail them being considerably better off.

My question please;

How long is it likely that this working arrangements can continue?

For example, under these calculations she would get (approx)

£900 monthly wages plus

£724 UC ( standard plus LCWRA reduced by £130.57 monthly) plus

£428 PIP 4 weekly

This gives a total of around £2052 monthly

New driver here and had a pretty scary moment today!

I was on a dual carriageway when my offside front wheel splash guard suddenly flew off while I was driving. The noise and suddenness of it really caught me off guard, especially with going at 65mph, but I managed to keep control, slow down gradually, and pull over safely.

Definitely shook me up a bit.

Would be really interested to hear what other people’s first scary or unexpected driving experiences were, and how you handled them?
