Buying an EV from Quebec and driving it back to Alberta?
Is it worth it to do this? I'm planning on buying a used EV at some point. The prices and selection seem to be far greater in Quebec. I've never owned a car before though so I'm not sure about all the fees involved and if it would still be worth it.
For more context, I'm hoping to get something under $20k. Right now I'm thinking about the following options: Pre-2023 Kona EV, Bolt EV, 2020+ Ioniq, Tesla 3. Feel free to recommend something else if you think there's a good option.
I would go with the Ioniq if it weren't for the comparatively worse range. I'm wondering how big of a deal it will be for things like driving between Edmonton and Calgary. Also driving it back from Quebec.
Looking at the listings online, it seems like the pickings are quite slim for getting something within Alberta, and maybe there's a bit more of a selection in BC, but it's nothing compared to Quebec.
Also, I am planning on charging it in the parking garage of an apartment, using the regular outlets. I won't be driving very much on a daily basis. Do you think the building would be okay with this? Worse case is they make me pay for the usage right? Or is there a chance they would just say "No you aren't allowed to do that".
Also wondering if people expect used prices to drop in the next year(s) following the national rebate and chinese imports. Or if this will not really have an effect.
