I am looking at purchasing my brother-in-law’s pop-up trailer. It has a toy hauler section at the front, and the sticker says it has a GVWR of 3,800 lbs, but the frame itself says 2,100 lbs.

My current vehicle is a Mazda CX-90 PHEV, which is rated to tow 3,500 lbs. I used to have a 23-foot trailer that weighed around 3,900 lbs, and towing that with a Honda Pilot was not a great experience. I have a hard time believing the two trailers are actually that close in weight.

I’m just wondering if this pop-up trailer would realistically be safe for my vehicle to tow.

Since it a toy Haller I think the gvwr would take the weight of the atv in consideration or am I wrong? Obviously I don't plan on bringing a heavy item like that.
