is this a normal estimate for cat teeth cleaning and extraction in the area?

Edit: I’m in San Mateo county, the 9.7k surgery I mentioned is already been done to my other cat so I’m just using it as a comparison

Vet found lesion in my cats mouth that she believes is due to resorption. The estimate for blood work, dental cleaning and possible single tooth extraction was 2.8-4.7k under general anesthesia ofc. Every Reddit post I’m reading is showing an estimate much lower than that. This is at San Bruno clinic which I do trust. My other cat had a total tooth extraction at animal dental clinic San Carlos due to the extent of his gum disease, and that was 9.7k which I was told was a scam. Any advice is appreciated thanks! For the cat with the total extraction I did also take him to 3 different vets in the area and they all recommended the dental specialist. But this cat with possible resorption can have hers done at the regular vet, so I was assuming it’d be cheaper

Will healthy paws cover cost of dental cleaning and possible tooth extraction for feline reabsorption syndrome?

My cat just went to the vet and the vet noted a lesion that looked like a reabsorption lesion and gingivitis. I know prophylactic dental cleanings aren’t covered by my insurance, but do they cover the anesthesia/imaging if they end up having to extract a tooth? She’s been covered since 2024 and has no pre existing redness in her gums or anything like that so would this be classified as an illness or is it something preventative? I was given an estimate of 2.4K-4.7k, I literally just had my other cats total extraction done for 9.8k and that’s in process with insurance so I want to get an idea if this will be covered so I can plan around it
