Expensive, sure. But the classic European Louvre-church-French royalty aesthetic really does it for me, especially after moving away from Diptyque after the latest price rise and brand refresh (i.e. reformulation) nonsense. Trudon boutiques are also beautiful and quiet in person, and I'm sensitive to that sort of thing since the markup for all of these candles for me is justified by the buying experience. Bought the fancy gold candle stands and everything.
Tried striking up convos and more casual relationships with office colleagues and it's clear after a conversation (or attempt) or two whether I'll get along with someone. So it's not worth it to make an effort to be liked: everyone's doing their own thing, seniors only put on politeness and social responsiveness with people more senior, cliques are established, etc. How to just keep to myself without being awkward? I already tried getting coffee with you, so why are you offended when I walk past you in the hallway without looking up from my phone?
