My bills started creeping up in cost these last six months. I don't know if this will work for everyone but I've been able to use customer service chats on both TXU and AT&T (Fiber Internet) to lower my bill. Here's the rundown in case y'all want to try:
For AT&T: Used the website chatbot that connected me to customer retention via the "I need to disconnect my service" page on my account website.
I told them Spectrum offered me the same speed for $54.99/mo + tax. I made up that offer but it seemed believable based on ads I've seen. They offered the same price for 12 mos plus a $50 visa loyalty gift card. Monthly bill reduced from $93 to $55.
For TXU: I told them Reliant mailed / emailed me a limited time offer to switch and that Reliant on the phone said they could pay the TXU early termination fee if I signed by X days from now.
There was no such promo offered by Reliant to me. But I did see other companies offer promotions. I also hit em with the " I can't afford to stay and leaving TXU makes me sad." They hooked it up with a plan that had a lower rate. So far my bill is around $75-$100 give or take less per month. It might not be a lot but I'm trying to handle my increasing bills for food and stuff. so It helps me.
I've found that threatening to leave reluctantly usually gets companies to try and keep me from leaving by offering some sort of deal. Whenever it expires I use their chatbots.
I don't feel that bad about lying but I know it's wrong for the most part but I feel like it's okay mostly. Cause fuck I mean...fuck em.
Anyone else ever do this or tried doing this and get a little bit of a discount?
There are only 29 days in February not 31.
I saw we are in the danger zone and the weather people make me scared about if I am basically already dead. 😭 what do y’all think?
In what world is anything in his book remotely possible?
