Installing my 1st carbon handlebar on aluminium MTB/stem. My factory stem is "no gap" at the top. Do I follow the no gap method of do I tighten in a criss-cross pattern?

Installing my 1st carbon handlebar on aluminium MTB/stem. My factory stem is "no gap" at the top. Do I follow the no gap method of do I tighten in a criss-cross pattern?

Hi all, upgrading my handlebar to help with hand fatigue and given the price of the handlebar I don't want to mess it up.

My factory stem has a no gap sign for the 2 top bolts which means I need to first tighten the top bolts til there's no gap between the faceplate and stem before tightening the 2 others.

I was wondering if I should apply the same method for a carbon handlebar? My current faceplate says 10nm Max but I know with a carbon fiber handlebar I should torque it to 5nm and use carbon grip paste. Just not sure about what order tighten the bolts

Thanks

Posted 2 days ago for advice and today this showed up home!

As a token of appreciation for everyone who helped me pick this out, here is the final setup! I surprised my partner with the 6" Celestron StarSense Explorer 130mm Tabletop Dobsonian when she got home and she was over the moon. Her first impressions "this looks like the real deal" 😅

The assembly instructions were straightforward, and I’m impressed by how sturdy the base feels. I'm starting to understand how everyone suggested a dobsonian over a tripod. Though I must say doing the research for this gift actually piqued my own interest, and I think I’ll be keen to try to do some stargazing myself too.

Thanks everyone

Hello everyone! I’ve read the beginner's guide and the comments, and it was a bit overwhelming because it seems not everyone agrees on the list of suggested telescopes or the use of tripods. However, as pointed out in the guide, the right telescope ultimately depends on each individual's circumstances, so I thought I'd ask for some help

My partner has shown an interest in space and the sky recently and mentioned how cool it would be to have a telescope, so I thought I'd get her one but I have 0 experience with telescopes. I didn't where to start at all at the beginning but the guide was definitely helpful to get me started.

In terms of our situation:

  • We live in the outer suburbs. According to darksitefinder's map legend, we're in a yellow zone and we have a backyard, so we will be using it at home.
  • We are also a short drive away from rural areas in the green zone, or even blue if we drive a bit longer.
  • We will likely be driving to areas with less light pollution, so transportation and ease of use on the go are important.
  • Budget $USD 400-550
  • Australia
  • Observing goals: stars, planets

The one that caught my eye in the guide is the Celestron StarSense Explorer 130mm Tabletop Dobsonian because of the smartphone feature, which I think is cool and will come in handy for my partner as she has no prior experience with telescopes.

I also came across what I believe is the same telescope but with a tripod: Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ Reflector.

I have zero experience with manipulating a telescope, and I did read in the guide that if tripods are not good the telescope will move during viewing and that a Dobsonian base is more stable. Has anyone had experience with the StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ with the tripod? Is it of good quality? To me, it feels like it would be easier to transport and set up outside, but again, I don’t have any real-life experience so I will rely on people with experience! Also open to other suggestions if you feel like there are other telescopes worth considering.

Thanks in advance

Currently trying to optimize MSFS24 in VR and it's proven difficult without seeing an FPS count. On flat screen I use Rivatuner but it doesn't show in VR.

fpsVR isn't free so I just want to make sure it works on PSVR2 before buying.

Thanks

I feel dumb for asking but when I'm in a flight, I don't know how to go back to the menu or pause the game so I'm forced to quit the game from the steamVR each time which I know isn't ideal but for the life of me I pressed all the button and nothing brings a pause menu during a flight.

Hi everyone,
I’m completely new to flight simulators and I’m running into some beginner issues. I’m using a PSVR2 on PC, and during the MSFS training missions the game doesn’t seem to recognise my input device. Because of that, all the instructions show Xbox controller buttons (A, B, X, Y), which makes learning the basics a bit confusing.

For example, in the very first training mission the instructor asks me to hide the yoke. I point at the yoke with the controller and it highlights in yellow. A small pop‑up appears saying “Yoke visible”, but it disappears after a couple of seconds and doesn’t tell me what button I’m supposed to press to toggle it. Since I’ve never played MSFS before, I’m not sure what I’m missing.

Is anyone here playing MSFS on PC with a PSVR2 who could help me understand how to handle these basic interactions? I really want to get into the game because it seems like an amazing VR experience.

Thanks in advance!
