How to translate unknown chords from my head for composition purposes?

I’ve played music for a long time but never got around to composing a song, which is my current aim.

I have plenty of whistle recordings made on the spot as I tend to pick up the music while I’m outside, though in reality the issue comes up all the same when I’m around my guitar.

I assume that a musician who’s familiar with associating sounds with chord shapes, if not chord denominations altogether, would be able to lay out the chord progressions relatively easily.

I would like to know what learning pathways there are in order to reach that stage, especially the first steps since I’m pretty much clueless beside standard major and minor chords.

Quels modèles me recommanderiez-vous ?

Merci pour vos réponses !

Favorite workflow for portrait painting?

I want to paint a portrait and have started the block-in phase, that is, painting the main shapes with broad strokes and trying to get the values right.

I'm not sure what to do from then on - I saw a few videos so far, and I'm not sure about the order of steps to take relative to completing the portrait in full detail - especially since the values would have to be constantly readjusted.

In what sequences do you proceed when painting a portrait from start to finish?

Thank you for your answers!

The top (cover) of my Masterson Sta wet palette has gone warped, is there anything I can do about it?

I'd kept the palette closed for a couple of weeks (or even more), and as I took it off I've noticed the cover had gone warped, which is a problem as in order to keep the paint wet, the palette has to be sealed... And just like that it became a hassle to seal off.

Has anybody had this issue, and how did you deal with it?

Thank you for your answer!

I’ve had 2 dreams today. Following the first I woke up after about 5 hours of sleep, yet I was feeling extremely energized, in spite of the dream not « looking good » (though it remains to be properly analyzed). As a matter of fact, I haven’t felt that good in a long time!

Knowing that I only had so much sleep, I decided to stay in bed in spite of my state and sleep some more as I was afraid of a crash later during the day such as happens when one didn’t get enough rest.

I probably fell asleep after about an hour, for an hour or more during which i had another dream, but then the feeling was diametrically different: I felt heavy and foggy and couldn’t muster the strength to get out of bed. Recalling the dream itself was a struggle and I wonder how much time it must’ve taken, though I was successful in recalling most of the details.

I wonder about the meaning of the psychosomatic symptoms in the aftermath of a dream, especially within the same « session » (i.e. night).

Does feeling great physically, on a sensation level, point to something having been resolved in the dream?

Conversely, does feeling « in the dumps » mean that the unconscious has taken over?

Is there more nuance to these phenomena and how would it translate? According to which parameters?

Thank you for your answers.
