So I had a question that I was having serious difficulty answering just from parts diagrams and such, so I figured I would see if any more experienced TDub owners knew the answer:
I recently switched to a 15/47 gearing, both new sprockets and a new chain, and it seems like the chain is position slightly differently in relation to the frame than it was with the stock gearing?
This wouldn't seem like it mattered, except it seems to be causing the chain to come into contact with this little nub/tab on the inner frame directly behind the shifter side foot peg? Which seems to be causing fine metal shavings to end up all over my chain and sprockets. I've tightened the chain as it seemed to have gained some slack as it broke in, which may solve the problem currently, and I haven't seen anyone else who's switched to 15/47 mention this issue or bring up needing to make any additional modifications with any kinds of chain guides or guards or anything else to prevent this happening, so I'm just curious if anyone else has run into this? Or if there is supposed to be some kind of rubber protection piece mounted behind the foot peg? The tab seems to have a groove along it as well, which makes it feel intentional and like perhaps there should be something there that is missing, but as I said, I haven't been able to find any diagram that mentions anything being in that space.
Thanks in advance for the help!
