Trying barrier repair moisturizers, skin still dry, congested, and pores visibly creating oil - thoughts/recs?

About 2 months ago I switched my moisturizer (Dr. Althea 345 cream) because I believe the niacinimide was contributing to an already damaged barrier.

Main barrier damage symptoms: redness, pore clogging and closed comedones, texture.

I’ve tried some others (byoma, soonjung barrier intensive cream, soonjung Hydrobarrier cream, thank you farmer cica cream)

Byoma caused acne and the others either burn a bit or just generally feel like they aren’t sinking in - my skin feels and looks so incredibly oily- I literally see little dots of oil coming out of my pores. I am thinking maybe my skin is dry and creating extra oil.

Pores look enlarged and clogged (but they did before too).

Any moisturizers that provide true hydration and barrier repair without clogging?

Trying to avoid niacinimide and possibly alcohols and squalane (horrible breakout from TO squalane cleanser).

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

Previous bad experience with boric acid, but new gyno recommends and ordered through compounding pharmacy. Scared to use it - thoughts?

So I have had recurring mild YIs for months, almost years now. I had finally experienced some relief but then had to take antibiotics in November and I haven’t been right since.

After trying oral Fluconazole, terrasol suppositories, and nystatin suppositories with no change, my gyno has recommended using boric acid for a week, then nystatin.

I have previously used boric acid once, three days in a row - mild burning the first few days then HORRIBLE burning on the third. I removed the dissolving capsule then sat in a cold bath for almost an hour.

I am terrified to try again. I am wondering if maybe I did not insert that one capsule far enough? (At the time I was using my finger, now I would use an applicator).

Also, he said the compounded boric acid might be less irritating, but I originally used a brand with no fillers so I do not understand how.

I’m so torn! I am so sick of chronic infection but very afraid to cause burning/ irritation/ further issues!

Does anybody know if a compounded boric acid would be different? Or if using an applicator makes a difference? TIA!
