Where are people actually finding well-fitted (not oversized) formal suits for women?

I don’t know what’s going on lately, but almost every formal suit I try ends up being… oversized.

Like, I get that relaxed fits are trending, but sometimes I just want a clean, sharp, properly tailored look, something that actually fits the shoulders, doesn’t look boxy, and doesn’t make me feel like I borrowed someone else’s blazer.

The frustrating part is:

  • Online, everything looks structured and fitted
  • In real life, it turns out loose, shapeless, or weirdly long
  • And even when the fabric is good, the fit just ruins the whole look

I’ve read that suits are supposed to fit properly around the shoulders and proportions matter a lot for that polished look — but it feels like most ready-made options just ignore that now.

So how are you all finding well-fitted suits?

Are you:

  • Getting them tailored after buying?
  • Sizing down and adjusting?
  • Or is there actually a way to find good fits straight off the rack?

Would really appreciate real experiences because right now everything just feels either oversized or not worth it.

When did you switch fully to maternity wear?

I’m a bit confused about when people actually make the switch to maternity clothes.

Right now, I’m kind of in that in-between stage where my regular clothes still fit, but not comfortably anymore. Some things feel tight, some just don’t sit right, and I keep wondering if I should just switch already or wait a bit longer.

At the same time, I don’t want to buy a whole new wardrobe too early and then feel like I rushed it.

So I’m curious, when did you personally switch to maternity wear?

Was it based on:

  • Comfort getting worse?
  • Visible bump?
  • Or just a certain week/month?

Also, did you gradually switch or go all in at once?

Would really help to hear real experiences because I feel like I’m overthinking this.

Why is it so hard to find affordable ethnic wear that actually looks premium?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but finding good ethnic wear feels way harder than it should be.

Either the price is reasonable, but the outfit looks kinda cheap in real life… or it looks amazing online and then turns out to be disappointing once you actually wear it. Sometimes the fabric feels off, sometimes the stitching isn’t great, and sometimes it just doesn’t give that premium vibe at all.

And when something does look truly premium, the price suddenly jumps way higher than expected.

I’m just trying to find that middle ground, something that:

  • Looks classy and well-finished
  • Feels comfortable and not low quality
  • Doesn’t cost a fortune

Is that too much to ask?

How are you guys dealing with this? Any tips, tricks, or places you trust when shopping for ethnic wear?

What actually matters more in ethnic wear: fabric, fit, or design?

I’ve been thinking about this lately while shopping for ethnic wear, and I’m honestly confused about what to prioritize.

Some outfits look amazing design-wise, but the fabric feels uncomfortable after a few hours. On the other hand, I’ve tried really comfortable fabrics that just don’t look that great once worn. And then there’s fit… sometimes even a good design and fabric can look off if the fit isn’t right.

So now I’m stuck wondering, what really matters most?

If you had to pick one, would you go for:

  • Better fabric (comfort, breathability, long-term use)
  • Perfect fit (how it actually looks on your body)
  • Or standout design (style, patterns, overall vibe)

Also curious how your choice changes depending on the occasion (wedding, casual, festivals, etc.)

Would love to hear real experiences, what do you personally prioritize and why?
