Nightmare Refurbished iPhones from Telus - Beware
Telus dropped the ball big time and I'd like to warn others to stay away.
For clarity I got two iPhone 15 Pro Maxs. After ordering them over the phone with the Loyalty department they took almost 3 weeks to ship, far longer than acceptable. And when I received the phones they were far below the standard of the previous refurbished phones I received from Telus.
Phone A:
- The screen arrived detached from the housing. It is lifting so much so that it can be peeled right off of the phone’s frame.
- A warning is displayed upon unlocking the phone that states that the screen was replaced with an inauthentic part, by an unauthorized service centre.

Phone B:
- Arrived covered in dirt or sand. Which could be found in all ports.
- The charging port looks damaged by water or otherwise.
- The phone is also heavily damaged, with scratches and dents on all sides.
When I began the process of returning the phones, I was told there was several days wait for a waybill. Waited several days only to get an email stating that Find My iPhone was still enabled and a waybill couldn't be issued. But obviously I understood that I'd have to wipe and disable FMI before I shipped the phones back. I'm not sure what mechanism they used to remotely check the software status of a phone in my possession, but I digress. Had to wait several MORE days after that to receive the Waybill and send back the phones.
So altogether, 3 weeks to ship, 2 days to be delivered, 1.5 week to receive the Waybills, 4 days for them to receive it. At this point my patience is spent. Just abhorrent. The customer service is poor, their system is slow, and the product is so subpar it's laughable. This is what happens when corporations cut and cut until nothing is left. There is no longer any quality control at Telus.
