I met a guy from my high school
So, I had this really cool experience! I'm 23 and just ran into a guy at a local burger joint. At first, I didn’t recognize him, but he knew me right away. When he introduced himself, I remembered him. He used to work there, and I was with my mom, so we chatted with him for a few minutes.
After a bit, I went to the bathroom, and when I came back, I saw him talking to my mom. She actually hugged him, and she looked pretty emotional about it. When I got closer, I noticed he had our food in hand and thanked me before heading back to the kitchen.
I asked my mom what was going on, and she told me something surprising! When he saw me, he remembered that I had saved him from some bullies in high school. Back then, he was shy and didn’t feel like he could tell anyone, but my act of kindness really made a difference for him. He told my mom that after I helped him, the bullying stopped.
I didn’t really remember it, but I thought it was great to reconnect! I went to the counter and asked for him, and he joined us to share the whole story. We ended up chatting for a while and exchanged numbers. It turns out he’s the owner of the burger joint now, and he’s really happy—also 23 like me! My mom was so happy to hear that he remembers me for doing something good.
This just reminded me how important it is to keep doing little good deeds. What might seem small to us can really mean a lot to someone else!
