Hello,
For a quick summary:
- Had eyelid swelling in November and lip dryness, was given protopic
- Jan/Feb started returning
- March started getting these weird patches of bumps (not acne) in cluster on cheek and near mouth, was given antibiotics for one week, it went away
- A week after that it returned, and slowly over the next week turned into huge patches on my cheeks, mouth, and generally my face of weeping eczema
- Was given oral steroids as it got so bad, was given 5 days and after 2 days it was almost completely gone
- Then when I was done the steroids I used protopic as the bridging treatment
- Things were calm enough, I was using protopic once a day at night
- Last week patch near mouth returned in bump form, and I noticed today its become a bit red and I swear it is weeping a bit, and a patch under my nose I think is there and weeping. Lips are bumpy and irritated and red as well.
Should I apply protopic on these patches still? Or what should I do?
I live in the UK and I'm leaving next sunday for a Month of travel. I was so relieved after steroids and the week after that of things remaining calm with protopic. I need things to calm down.
Hello,
Quick recap:
- history of allergies, hives, lip irritation and eczema as of last year
- had similar cluster 6 weeks ago on cheeks and same area pictured
- took antibiotics totally cleared up
- few days later it slowly returned
- turned into super dry eczema patches, started weeping, eyes puffy, lips irritated
- took oral steroids for 5 days everything went away including weeping eczema whole face cleared
- was applying Protopic as bridging treatment post steroids
- now this near mouth patch returned last week
- Protopic having no effect
- today lips have become patchy and bump and I fear these bumps are spreading
- saw pharmacist they thought maybe fungal? Gave me cream have only applied once
How did you treat this?

Hi, I had a big flare on my face last month, had steroids, had these bumps before and they’ve come back, I’m using Protopic to keep areas calm this is the only area that has the flare that’s bumpy like this. Protopic is doing nothing, so I think it’s not eczema, what does it look like? Slightly itchy and just weird bumps?
Hello!
I’ve had eczema flares the past few months and now it felt like things calmed but I have these super itchy bumps scattered on my arms! They are also on my thighs. Is this eczema or what could this be?
