#Honestly, it’s irritating and frustrating. I don't know, if any of you can relate with this or not!

I’ve been facing this issue with CRED for some time now. It doesn’t let me check my bank balance instantly using the normal UPI method, instead it asks me to set up biometric authentication first. There’s no option to skip it.😑

I spoke to customer care, and the agent said this is a mandatory setup by CRED for checking balance as well as paying someone money upto 5k. I asked if this was mandatory by RBI or any governing body, and she said no.

"if I’m comfortable using my UPI PIN, why am I being forced to add biometric authentication just to check my balance?"

Personally, using a PIN feels more secure. You actually get a moment to review the details before entering it on the final page.
With biometrics, it’s just instant approval and can sometime lead to wrong transactions.

*What can we actually do in this situation? *Is it even legal to make this mandatory? *Can this be raised with any regulatory body?

I had placed an Ice-cream order and it was supposed to be delivered in 30-40 mins. I was in no rush but they had changed 2 riders and now 3rd rider was going to the outlet in 40mins, so, the order was delayed.

I start chatting and it was no where mentioned that this was a bot, so, after few back and forth I asked and found this was a bot.

It gave up in 2 queries, lol 😅
