So for context, right now in the story I'm at the Aether Paradise raid, and I just finished the fight with Guzma there before meeting Lusamine again. During this fight he used a Vikavolt and I was like "well wait surely mine could've evolved by now". For the record I already knew Charjabug didn't evolve traditionally through level up and was one of those where you had to be in specific places. So I decided to look up which places the evolution worked in and apparently specifically in USUM it can evolve at a place called Blush Mountain, which is a place I completely skipped over when I went to that route originally and that I probably could've went to way earlier (though even then, It probably wouldn't have clicked to give my Charjabug a random Rare Candy in this place, though I guess there was also this one guy there that could've evolved it if I fought him too and if I was too close to evolving, though I skipped him as I wanted to get it done with already). This is an important moment for me as Grubbin was my second ever Pokémon I caught on this playthrough and I knew I wanted a Vikavolt since the start since they're cool and I know they're pretty dang strong (or atleast fairly decent in the grand scheme of things idk). So yeah, that's my story. I wonder if anyone else evolved their Charjabug way later than they could have lol

Fair word of warning this will mostly be ramblings as I just need to put these thought out there somewhere and I apologize if this lacks structure, plus it's like midnight when I'm writing this so... Also, as of right now I have just finished watching the Credits video and haven't explored further into Hiveswap or The Epilogues or Beyond Canon or whatever else so yeah. So when I say "avoided" I mostly mean I was never really interested in it before and was driven away by all the horror stories I bet y'all are tired of hearing about, but I decided to finally give it a fair shot with the announcement of the Animated Pilot, thinking that when the show eventually comes, that I would know what was going on and the plot beats I'd recognize. So yeah uh, this took six months on and off lol I mean I knew it was big, obviously, but damn man that's nearly half a year! Like I saw an old comment from six months ago where I said I was still on ACT 2 and I barely remember anything from back then! Okay where was I oh yeah so a lot of the early stuff is a blur to me with me remembering most of the big moments really well I really wonder like, do people actually read this multiple times and have everything memorized by now? Anyway there is no possible way for me to go in order of things that happened, just know that I basically love all the main characters, they're my babies that must live forever. So uh yeah here's my top 10 characters, they change constantly though the top few have stayed pretty consistent (don't take it too seriously):

(Honorable mention to Nepeta who I really wish didn't die, so sad. Super special honorable mention to my man, The Mayor. Also mega dishonorable mention to idk what you guys call him, that Jack with Lord English powers, I call him Jack English or just third Jack, he's the lamest one sorry not sorry)

Okay so I gotta say btw, one thing Homestuck excelled at was making me care for characters I didn't think I would've. Like I probably wouldn't have cared nearly as much for the trolls if we didn't spend all that time getting to know them when they showed their session. Like I remember thinking at the start that I just wanted to go back to the main characters (I only got back to them at the start of the year lol), but I see now how important all that really was. Terezi especially really grew on me after a rocky start (as you can see by my ranking), I didn't expect to like her so much, especially since at the start I gave her a really scratchy and raspy voice in my mind, which I sorta ended up keeping, I thank my throat every day for not reading all that out loud she spoke way more than I thought she would. Speaking of unfitting voices, I gave Eridan this stupid vampire voice and accent, which ended up maybe not being a good idea when he ended up betraying his team... Flawless transition into my next topic: that whole sequence of everything going to shit with the trolls was one of the highlights for sure, even if they killed my favorite characters and Equius (half joking don't kill me), that was also when Gamzee was at his most menacing imo.

Uhh yeah I don't want this to drag on too much (even though it is), sorry for yapping too much but you've read Homestuck too so you're probably used to reading walls of text. In summary, what I've read of Homestuck was really damn good. Here's some random rapid fire bullet points ot whatever they're called for stuff I couldn't quite fit in.

• Caliborn shooting Gamzee was really funny (yeah I just had to put this at the top)

• I didn't mention them in my Top 10 but Jane and Jake are really cool too, especially awesome seeing another version of Nanna, even though they felt like different characters by the end (that's a good thing)

• I liked when it didn't take itself too seriously, but it only made the actual serious and tragic stuff hit harder

• Roxy was lowkey the hidden MVP of her group which was awesome and unexpected

• John reuniting with his dad at the end which for his dad was his grandfather actually make me almost tear up, cause Jack killing him at first got me real sad too, yeah.

• Doc Scratch was such a cool character man I didn't give him enough credit

• Actually hearing the Homestuck version of MeGaLoVania with proper context after all these years was sick btw

• I'd have to look back at what my favorite Flash is, but Cascade and Collide are def up there, obviously.

• The Terezi password stuff was the coolest shit I've ever seen be done in any story like this, I was sitting there for ages wondering "hmm I wonder when this will come into play" and when they all happened almost back to back it was crazy man

• I don't know what the common consensus is, but I had fun unnoficial ways I called certain characters, like I made sure to distinguish Dad Egbert with Father Crocker, then there was Mom Lalonde, Bro Strider and Grandpa Harley for their Pre-Scratch selves (which I believe people actually say if not their actual names though I'm not sure

• Spades Slick was a really cool character man I don't care if he was just an asshole for the sake of it, he's way better than the other Jackseses in my opinion

• I like comic Dave and pilot Dave for different reasons but god do I hope they tweak his personality in the show proper cause that's not him

• I watched the whole Trickster mode sequence at like 2 AM and it really hurt my eyes because it was two in the fucking morning and my lights were off I have no one to blame but myself yes but fun fact I guess

• I'm like really confused what ended up happening to Lord English, though I assume that was kind of the point (DON'T SPOIL ME IF SOMETHING EXPLAINS THIS FURTHER)

• Near the start I used to ship Johnkat, that's all I got to say on that

• On that note, surprisingly pretty progressive from a thing from late 2000s to early 2010s... once you get past the slurs but it was a different time man

• So my dad went on another one of his baking trips so the house is full of fuckin' cakes again

• I have very mixed feelings on Vriska as a character that I refuse to elaborate about. I just have to mention her name atleast once in case anyone asks
