With Filipino Americans being the biggest diaspora by far what’s your thoughts on born and raised British Filipinos or Filipino Australians?

curious if you have even met one born and raised with the accents, I am wondering how they are doing there personally

I am a Co-Op student studying comp sci, I graduate this year but now I want to switch to medicine.

I got a good Co-op coming out of high school so that’s the only reason why I took it, but after doing many internships I don’t think I like corporate at all and I hated my degree so much like I really don’t like the stuff in learning and leetcode and I really just hate the corporate environment as well.

I know it’s my life and I shouldn’t need internet validation but does anyone know people who went to med school leaving corporate?

im turning 21 and feel like im too old and wasted my time but part of me is happy i took this route because i realise i cant see myself working for 40 years like this. i just came off my second time volunteering for a hospital in Sydney and I just really loved it

Software Engineer at Quant Trading firm looking to career switch

hello,

I graduated with the university medal years ago for computer science and physics.

I moved to New York to work as a Algorithmic Developer at Hudson River Trading.

to be honest, I only picked computer science because I wanted the most money as fast as possible but most importantly I wanted an introverted job and redditors and stuff would always tell me it’s good for people like me.

however, few years in I’m already so disappointed in my current work situation.

I am now considering medicine because in year 12 I actually came too 5 in state for biology and top 10 in state for chemistry and those were my favourite subjects.

I wanted to become a pathologist because i just wanted to do biology and chemistry and barely talk to anybody. in any corporate job I have to keep doing office politics and suck up to my manager and have some dumbass evaluate my work or have another dumbass take 2 weeks to look at my pull request.

i don’t care about making the most money at all anymore so I’m wondering do you know of any STEM background people who made the switch to medicine years after and which is best school for medicine post grad

Uni student working in a co-op (long internship) contract ending soon, struggling to find casual jobs

Uni student working in a co-op (long internship) contract ending soon, struggling to find casual jobs

my job ends in 3 weeks my contract. I live alone and rent alone so I’m scared of having no job . I’ve been applying to loads of casual jobs in the city and Harris farm next to me but still haven’t heard anything and maccas has rejected me three times. should I put in my resume that my contract has already ended in my professional internship or is it better to be seen as currently employed.

i don’t care about how much it pays I just want to be able to comfortably pay my rent so it’s not out of my savings and that I can get a casual job ASAP. my university is late evenings as well so I’m happy to work Monday to Friday morning to evening

I have a SWE internship at atlassian and another one at a large company.

Ive been rejected from the OA and VI stages of the most popular grad roles eg commbank before I could actually interact with a human.

I am now content with the reality that I could graduate without a graduate job lined up so not sure how to approach it.

im basiclaly next to the city so I have harris farm and loads of other shops near me but seems like some aren’t hiring based on what it says online
