I got both of these pairs in the beginning of 2025. However when I first got them, I was only wearing them on my days off from work. So only once a week maybe.

This past October, I decided to wear them in conjuction with the Stitchdown Patina Thunderdome. Even to work in. So for over six months I was rotating between 4 pairs. For work, for days off, for everything.

I do think the Shogun did get more wear than the Onyx. So the fades are visibly more noticeable. But even though the Shogun is half an ounce heavier, I feel like the Onyx is tougher and more rigid feeling. So I'm sure that contributes to the amount of fading.

Here recent with the Texas summer heat already here, I made the decision to turn them into shorts. I'm too addicted to the pockets to let them go for the summer. My summer work is significantly more dirty than fall and winter work. So they already got all muddy and dirty.

I love how the Shogun is coming along. You can really see the lines and marks from what I keep in my pockets. Right side, folding pocket knife, and a pocket screwdriver. Left side 18650 battery in a leather sleeve, and a hank.

Paisley day! Matchy Matchy.

Didn't get the Paisley TPT while I was at the Blade Show. Kinda been kicking myself about it, ever since. So when they dropped the Paisley run again last week, I got in on it.

DLC coated Paisley TPT Slide ez swap edition. Perfectly matched to my DLC Paisley Base Line Bolt that I did scoop up at the blade show. Both go right along perfectly with the black BID Paisley bandana! Love the trio!

This will be my 4th matching set! Standard DLC TPT slide with the Click Edc. Both of these are from the original Kickstarter back in 2018.

Keltic Blue TPT Slide with matching Pocket Pro.

Electric blue TPT Slide and Dual Side Click colab with Voyage Bladeworks.

And of course the most recent additions, DLC Paisley TPT Slide ez swap, and DLC Paisley Base Line Bolt.

Ti Tuesday: Cerakote edition, and some daily use patina.

I have always loved Big Ideas cerakote. It's so good!

The Click Edc is the oldest of the bunch. 5 years old. I daily carried this for two years straight. It's worked outside in the heat and humidity. And the mud, dirt, and sand. It's remodeled two whole houses and taken tons of notes and measurements.

I got the Tequila Sunrise Inline from none other than Mr u/stickytack. And of course the reasonably new Duo Tone Overlook.

I love the patina potential of the cerakote. While yes it offers great color and protection. Daily wear will still get some good patina.

Mail call... it's Whatnot drop day!

CokeyZ patch and Blue anno pocket bit!

CokeyZ joins the patch ranks on the Edc pouch.

Out with the old car fob ring... in with the new. Safe to say... I've got a thing for blue.

For the longest time I was using nylon belts. Then several vears ago, I invested in one of Nicks belts. Wickett and Craig Double Stuffed Slate Heavy Duty Work Belt. And it was on a whole other level! Super thick leather! Stiff And solid brass buckle. It's been such a great belt. I'm not sure I'Il ever be able to go back to nylon belts ever again.

Since that time I've managed to acquire several more. Many of which match right along with one of my pairs of boots. Never thought I'd be a boot matching belt kinda guy But here we are. 6 belts in. 5 of the 6 are dead on matches.

Wickett and Craig Double Stuffed Slate HD work belt.

Wickett and Craig Double Stuffed Natural HD work belt.

Wickett and Craig Double Stuffed Cobalt Appaloosa Gunslinger.

Seidel 64 Mahogany HD work belt.

Seidel 64 Ash Gray roughout Heritage work belt. ( used Venetian Shoe Cream to turn this into an Ash Gray waxed flesh)

Horween Greener Pastures waxed flesh Heritage work belt

These belts are all made from such high quality leather! They will easily out live me Hopefully my children will eniov them down the road as much as I have. I can't recommend them enough. Nicksbelts.com

Second day with my new Die Hard shorts. Onyx yesterday. Shogun today. Yesterday was in the 90s and hot. Today is rainy, humid, and miserable. So I'm glad to have these shorts. And my double front pockets!

If I could change one thing...I think I'd make them like 1 inch shorter in the leg. I measured and marked them against another pair of shorts. But I added a little length to account for the fold of the cut edge, and the hem. I added 2 inches. If I did it again I'd only add 1 inch.

Greener Pastures Waxed Flesh Chukka.

Greener Pastures Waxed Flesh heritage work belt.

Self made Brown Waxed Flesh multi tool belt holster, key clip, bracelet, ring, and wallet.

Just felt like a Waxed Flesh kinda day, even though it's not Wednesday yet. Chukka with shorts will be crucial for summer.

I love Big Ideas DLC! It's so incredibly resilient! Looks good, feels good, and is crazy tough!

Standard Bolt in DLC with Damascus clip and bolt.

Bolt Action Marker in DLC with Damascus clip and bolt.

Bit Bar II in DLC. With Klein mini ratchet.

Pete's Pirate Life Overlook in acid wash titanium.

I wanted to highlight the standard bolt. Just look at this DLC. This pen is almost 5 years old. Been carried a ton! The DLC is still perfect! No chips, no dents, no dings. It's flawless after almost 5 years of use.

Instant nostalgia triggered this purchase. This wonderful color scheme touched almost everything in the 90s. Cups, taco bell, clothing, furniture, decor, sports teams, and accessories.

I'm still not sure where this will go just yet. But I'll figure that part out later. Lmao.

The Brave Star Die Hard rapidly became my absolute favorite pants! I love the fit. I love the denim. I am in love with the pockets! I've been wearing them just about every day since October. And I'm officially addicted to the pocket layout. I've gotten so used to it, I don't want to go without it. (I even modified all my other double fronts to the same pocket layout.)

Summer temps are approaching quickly here in Texas. I want shorts with the Die Hard pocket layout! So...I made it happen. Turned my Shogun, Dark Fest, and Onyx Die Hards into shorts. Now I've got Die Hards for the all year long! Even summer! Don't worry, I saved my Wabash, Herringbone, Sensei, and Samurai Die Hards for the fall and winter. I've also got Brown Bear on pre order. So I'll still be set for colder season.

I measured them against my favorite Carhartt shorts, B357. Marked em, added two inches so I could hem them. Trimmed off the legs. Folded and glued 1/4 inch in from the cut edge. Then folded and glued the hem. Then I stitched two rows of stitching at the top of the tucked fold.

I did add some self edge pieces to the outside, cut from the leg trimmings, just without a cuff. This created such a large and dense amount of denim layers, I couldn't even get my sewing machine to go through them. So along each self edge piece, I had to finish it with hand stitching. It's not as perfect as I'd like to it be. But if I ever do it again, I'll make adjustments for this. But I had already glued all 3 pair before I started sewing. Live and learn.

I also turned my two pair of 1620 Utility pant 2.0, and two pair of Round House 2202 canvas carpenter pants into shorts as well. But they're not Selvage. Fully set for summer.

Busted out the Stonewashed 13 stripes Lookout and Pocket Pro today. Along with the rock carved Stonewashed Overlook.

Also the Big I Design quality edc t shirt.

Today was a prime example of why I carry all the stuff I carry on my hip. Had an extension cord prong try to do it's best turtle impression. Bit Bar Inline, Ti Pry, and Knipex XS to the rescue. I never know when I'll need my tools. But I'm always glad they're there when I need em.

Big Idea x Best Damn Edc reverse tanto Lookout. Magnacut, green micarta, leather sheath. Badass knife!

For the sake of MITUSA, threw in the Bronze Pocket Pro. Love this thing. Great patina!
