Looking for single-player game recommendations.

I’m trying to find a game where I can recruit/build an army, squad, monsters, soldiers, mercenaries, or companions and gradually make them stronger over time. I really enjoy progression systems where you level characters, get better gear/items, unlock abilities, take on harder missions/bosses, and feel your army/team evolving.

I like base/city/building mechanics too, but I don’t want that to be the main focus. The progression, combat, recruiting, customization, and growing stronger are the important parts for me.

Graphics honestly don’t matter much, I care way more about mechanics, depth, replayability, and good progression/story.

Some things I enjoy:

• Recruiting units/companions/monsters
• Training and gearing them up
• Sending them on missions or fighting alongside them
• Hard bosses/endgame content
• Loot, XP, skill progression
• Building something from nothing
• Single-player only

Any recommendations?
