How did you ensure your children were close?

Hello!

my husband and I are adopting a baby boy due in August, and plan on adopting a second child (we’re hoping for a boy) about 1.5-2 years afterwards.

what are some things you all have done to ensure your children are close, not just in childhood, but through adulthood as well.

thank you!

hi everyone! I’ve my current company for a little over a year. I recently received a promotion. I also received a 15% raise. I currently make $80,000 I am remote. Tuesdays through Thursday I commute one hour and 15 minutes into my office. I work from 10 AM to 7 PM which means that I need to leave my house about 9 AM and that means I usually don’t get home until 8:00 PM. Sometimes maybe I’ll get home at 50 or 755. So, I guess that means my commute is less than an hour and 15 give or take with traffic. I am currently interviewing for another opportunity in higher education, which is the field that I currently work in. However, although it would be a promotion regarding title, I would be taking a pay cut of $10,000 for a total of 70,000. I also would have to come into the office five days a week, however, I would be able to be home around 4 to 430 every day and my commute would be roughly 15 to 20 minutes on country roads no traffic. Which is the opposite of what I have now commuting and heavy Atlanta traffic. I actually love my current job and I have great coworkers. I also love being valued in leadership. However, my son is due in 16 weeks and I just don’t know if this kind of work is sustainable. I come home and I’m absolutely exhausted Tuesday through Thursday. I’m frustrated and irritable from the traffic and drive and I just can’t seem to make any use of my time after work. do you all think that I should quit my job and take this other job offer the big pay cut when I’m about to have a baby is terrifying. I love my job and I have great benefits and pay but these hours and the commute are draining me. I just don’t know how I can be a present wife and mother with these hours
