Is it common to be refused an invoice
So.. I'm new in my role on (ugh) probation and unfortunately booked work travel twice with booking.com.
I paid for a hotel for a night, and booking.com have a monopoly on the rooms at this place. OK.... so I use them. Twice.
They proceed to charge me, and request I get an invoice from the hotel itself. I have to request parking 3 times from the platform, then once I get there, STILL NO PARKING, so I have to ask the hotel and pay a fee.
I get the invoice and hotel has charged me for parking, yet their total is a good 23 or so dollars less than what got charged to my corporate card.
And lo and behold, no one knows why. If it were me, I'd pay $23 to never speak with or use booking.com again, BUT I NEED A RECEIPT TO PROVE WHERE THE MONEY WENT!!!!??? Or I face further scrutiny from work. Given the current employment market, I'm not exactly walking into a new role either.
In the words of my favourite Brazilian band, RORTS!!!! BLOODY ROOOORRRRTTTTSSS!!!!!
ETA: I made a formal request for an invoice, three times, no reply or acknowledgement. First on the day of booking, then 21 days, then 24 days since the booking.
