$70,000 estimate from a Roofing company- what’s reasonable?

My husband and I live in upstate NY. Our roof is large, around 3000sq ft and about 30 years old. We know we’ll be spending some money on it, but never expected dude guy to pull up with a full presentation and an immediate RIGHT NOW deal for $70,000. We basically threw him out when he started bs-ing my husband how his wife should be present for this amazing conversation (as I was fighting for my life with our toddler), but are now wondering what a reasonable quote would actually look like.

Originally we wanted metal, but are now thinking we’re more in a price range for a regular shingle. Our roof is not too complicated but there are some questionable areas to address. I just wanted to see if we acted too fast with Erie or if our guts were correct to move away from them. The guy just seemed super sketchy, idk.
