Mega Charizard Meta Discussion (X vs Y)

I wanted to make this post to open a discussion on the Mega Charizard variants in the current meta.

Personally, I've used the Y variant that hits for 250 with great success in Ranked so far, even with it being an older deck. Doesn't brick too much, Entei can tank for a bit, pick off some 60 HP mons, and draw cards for you. Then once Mega Charizard Y is online, you ramp up the energy with Flame Patches and sweep from there.

However I've been seeing a lot of decks that use Charizard X, but I can't really understand why. I can see how the 3 energy requirement and no health loss can be nice, but again with flame patch the 4 energy requirement for Charizard Y isn't that much of a hurdle, and we all know how broken Ice Pop is. Charizard X has less damage output its "110 health or less" damage ramp seems somewhat situational and complicated to use correctly.

Would love to hear some other opinions, as I have entirely used Charizard Y and not X.
