This post is just for fun so dont hate me but I was just thinking about how casually Ethan Winters takes losing his pinky and ring fingers early in RE: Village. We all know he’s basically built different (thanks, Mold), but from a physiological standpoint, he should be absolutely screwed for the rest of the game.

Why the 5-finger setup is OP:

Most people think the thumb and index do all the work. Nope. Your pinky and ring fingers actually provide about 50% to 67% of your total grip strength. They act as the "anchor" that locks an object against your palm.

Why Ethan should be struggling:

Recoil Control: Trying to brace a shotgun or steady a sniper rifle without the ulnar side of your hand (the power side) is a nightmare. The gun would basically twist right out of his hand every time he pulled the trigger.

The "Power Grip": Anything involving a melee weapon or climbing would be nearly impossible. He’s essentially lost half his hand's torque.

No First Aid Fix: Since the Lycan literally ate them, he can’t just splash some "Goop Juice" on and reattach them like he does with his leg or arm.

The Mold Factor:

The only reason he’s able to keep sniping Lycans with perfect accuracy is likely his Mold physiology. He isn't relying on muscle and bone anymore; the Mold is basically acting as a biological glue holding his grip together.

TL;DR: If Ethan were a normal human, losing those two specific fingers would mean game over. He’d barely be able to hold a flashlight, let alone a grenade launcher.
