BIOS locked HP Elitebook - Laptop otherwise works fine.
I bought this HP Elitebook 840 G10 laptop on eBay for a decent price and noticed there was a BIOS administrator password on it (blocking me from entering BIOS setup). The seller is telling me he doesn't know the password.
I was able to do a fresh install of Windows 11 and was able to deduce that there isn't any "work" or "school" account /computrace or anything that would suggest it's stolen. I was able to set it up as a personal device.
What would happen if I contact HP to help me remove the BIOS password? Would they actually help or just tell me to piss off?
What is my best solution?
EDIT: Called HP and they told me to f myself. The only way to get rid of the BIOS password is to replace the motherboard. WHICH HAS A CHARGEABLE FEE! FFFFFF
