As I prepare for my graduation from NP this week, I just wish to share a golden rule with the NP freshies and current students to help you survive and excel.
Please bear in mind this Golden Rule throughout your 3 years in NP :
Not everyone you meet in class will become your friend and that’s okay. Learn to respect your classmates and treat them as working partners.
Be prepared to work together with anyone assigned to your group, even if you don’t click with them or don't consider them your friends. In the end, what truly matters is completing your assignments well and maintaining a strong GPA.
Remember : Your goal is NOT to seek friendship, BUT to work hard with your group mates and achieve a good GPA!
When you step into the working world in future, the same applies. Not everyone you meet will be your friend, but you’ll still need to work together.
Treat your poly years as a training ground. Get to know your classmates through working assignments with them. Some of the best friendships are built this way. We'll only know our classmates deeper after we worked together with them. That's when we see their True Colour : Who are the truly reliable, hardworking and loyal ones...
After 3 years, some people you thought were close friends may drift away. But your results and achievements will stay with you, as they will open doors to university and future opportunities.
Stay focused, stay respectful, be open minded, don't judge, and do your best!
