Briefly some back ground -
I've had 4 lumbar surgeries (microdiscectomies/fusions) and 3 cervical fusion. I was referred to a neurologist for near constant numbness and tingling in the right arm, intermittent on the left arm. Tremors in both hands. After examination he said that I have Parkinson's. He noted that I didn't move my right arm when walking, bradykinesia, decreased voice modulation and facial expression. He ordered an EMG of both arms. 3 months after the first appointment, I saw him last week to review the test.
He said that he thinks he jumped the gun and doesn't think I have Parkinson's and to follow up in a year. He said the tremors are essential tremors not Parkinson's. The tremors are the same as my initial exam. I'm thrilled that he doesn't think I have Parkinson's but what the hell?? Has anyone had a similar experience?
