Tax Manager - 31 yo - Brussels
Hey guys, hope you're doing well this weekend! Wanted your opinion on the following. A bit of context: I studied law, did a specialization in tax and worked 5 years as tax lawyer in a Band 1 law firm in Brussels previously to this job. I then switched because I wanted a greater work/life balance. I'm (very) happy with my situation but it's alway interesting to hear opinions.
Why am I posting?
- I'm somewhat hesitating to leave for other career paths (lawyer again in a law firm with better work/life balance (seems difficult aha), lawyer 50%/Phd50% or "Procureur des Koning/Procureur du roi" in tax law).
- When I hear some of my friends around my age still working in law firms, I have the impression I'm doing more money then them, even without considering my weekly hours which are smaller than their (for now, because if they make it to counsel of partner, it will be another story!). It is something I was not expecting to be honest.
Thanks in advance and have a good day!
