HiBy R3 II (2025) vs. R3 Pro II: Is the €30 upgrade worth it for battery & display?

I’m currently rocking the HiBy R3 II (2025 Version), and honestly, I’m totally satisfied with it. My workflow is pretty old-school—I strictly listen to FLAC files and navigate exclusively through folder structures. It’s snappy, reliable, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do without any fuss.
Even on the wireless side, it’s been flawless. Whether I’m using my FiiO EH11 or my AirPods Pro 2, the Bluetooth connection is rock solid. No dropouts, no pairing headaches—everything just works perfectly.
The Dilemma: To Upgrade or Not?
Even though I love the R3 II, I’ve been eyeing the HiBy R3 Pro II. I’m considering making the jump mainly for two reasons:

  1. Battery Life: I wouldn't mind a bit more juice for longer sessions.
  2. Display: A slightly better screen experience is always tempting.
The price difference is only about €20–€30, which isn't much in the grand scheme of audiophile gear.
    Does it make sense?

I’m looking for some advice regarding a playback issue on my FiiO M21.

I have a library of local FLAC files in MQA format. Whenever I try to play them using Poweramp, I experience noticeable stuttering or lagging right at the beginning of the track (usually the first few seconds). Once it gets past that initial hiccup, the rest of the song plays perfectly fine.

A few details:
The Issue: Audio stutters/lags only at the start of MQA FLAC files.
App: Poweramp (latest version).
Comparison: The files play flawlessly in the original FiiO Music app without any stuttering.
Storage: Files are stored locally.

Has anyone else encountered this? I suspect it might be related to how Poweramp handles the MQA unfolding or the buffer settings on the M21, but I’m not sure which settings to tweak.
Does anyone have a fix or a suggested configuration for Poweramp to stop this initial lag?
Thanks in advance!
