Why does the almost cashout zone feel more painful than actually losing it all?
Genuinely asking because my brain does not compute this feeling, you know the one. Youre sitting at like 87 percent of your goal, totally doable, just need a few more runs or sessions or whatever then something stupid happens. One bad decision, lag spike and one moment of not paying attention and suddenly youre back at 34 percent and now the whole thing feels impossible again. The difference between almost there and completely reset is like what, 50 points or something, but emotionally its the difference between dopamine and pure despair. I swear losing it from 90 percent stings worse than losing it from the starting line. At least when you're starting over there's no what if hanging over your head.
Anyone else experience this or is this just my brain being weird about sunk time?
