Are Steam Curators actually useful?

Are Steam Curators actually useful?

I sent out 50 game copies through the Steam Curator Connect feature, and about half were accepted, but so far I haven't received a single review. I'm wondering, does Curator Connect actually lead to meaningful reviews or wishlist conversions?

Also, since my game Go Forward Survivors launched, I've been getting one or two messages almost every day from people claiming to be Steam curators and asking for a game key. I know most of them just want to resell the keys, but some of them email from the address listed on their curator page and say they're also happy to receive a copy through Steam Curator Connect, or just a direct key. Are these ones actually legit?

I'd love to hear your thoughts: have you gotten real results from Steam Curator Connect? And how do you filter or vet curators who ask for keys?

My first game, Go Forward Survivors, is about to launch on Steam in just one hour. I'm nervous, excited, and honestly just grateful to have made it this far.

The game is a Survivors-like with a "Skill Editor" twist:

Each skill has its own unique attack pattern (e.g. spinning slash, throwing)

You can swap weapons to change the skill's appearance, collision range, and attack distance

You can socket gems to add elemental effects (ice, fire, lightning, poison), change projectile speed, or even alter targeting logic

Dozens of skills × dozens of gems × dozens of weapons × dozens of items = infinite build possibilities.

If that sounds interesting, feel free to check out the Steam page: Go Forward Survivors
