Is this bone or wood in my food?

Got a chicken burrito bowl from a chain restaurant here in Canada. It had chicken, rice, black beans, lettuce, corn and peppers. I swallowed at first what felt like an hard piece of rice. I kept eating then eventually bit down and found this in my bite of food. What is this? Is it bone? Wood? I definitely swallowed some of it.

Air in packaging?

Purchased a box of these Peanut butter Lara bars yesterday. They expire in November. 5 of the bars I noticed the wrappers feel like they are puffy/have air in them. Is this normal from processing or could this mean these bars have gone bad? The only ingredients are dates, peanuts and sea salt. I already ate one bar from a non puffy packaging.

Is this normal for cartons?

My boyfriend bought almond milk for me and I had a cup of it. I had bought another carton and noticed the carton not being as puffy as the first one. Does bloat automatically mean the almond milk has gone bad? I did notice some at the store looking like this too. Best before date not until june.

Scope from March 2024 shows "The body from stomach shows moderate gastritis with rare focus of mild activity. Rare multinucleated giant cells are also present, however no well formed granulomas are identified." I am due for another scope early next year (3 year surveillance) and am still experiencing symptoms.

Have you ever come across this rare pathology? Does this make the risk of metaplasia progression higher?

I am 32 year old female. Was experiencing horrible symptoms in Sept 2023 and had a scope with a general surgeon in March 2024 which biopsies showed moderate gastritis with mild activity and multi focal intestinal metaplasia. Visually she said it looked mild though before the biopsy came back (which confuses me?)

I've done tons of meds and diets and have still been experiencing symptoms since but had a huge painful flare up in October 2024 and was referred to a GI for a scope. I had another scope late January 2025. However, the GI doctor did not biopsy my stomach or esophagus and just stated I visually have mild gastritis and a mild irregular z line in the esophagus. (So no known information about my metaplasia progression due to no biopsy done)

I am now experiencing another huge flare the last few weeks. Can multi focal intestinal metaplasia turn to dysplasia or cancer in a few years if the injury is still occurring? (Last biopsy done March 2024). I am going to see my doctor in a few weeks to request another scope but I am extremely worried. I live in Canada and will likely have to wait 3-6 months for the actual scope date.

▲ 3 r/GERD

It initially started off very mild post nasal drip symptoms that were thought to be allergies in 2020 to eventually full blown LPR, gerd and gastritis now. I had a scope in Jan 2025 (last year) and the doctor said i had a mild irregular z line but it did not look like Barrett's. What is the likelihood of reflux turning into Barrett's in just over a year? Does it typically progress into Barrett's quickly?
