Hello! I've been a fan of this novel for a LONG time but its also been a Long time since I Read the novel, and Recently my friends wanted to play a quick horror themed TTRPG and I decided, why not use this verse?

I ofc changed a lot of stuff to make more sense for a TTRPG scenario, but now need some help with the Ghost Stories my players will meet.

The plot of my game is that these 6 players were all childhood friends on this very small town, but one day this huge corporation set there and things went as usual for 5 years, untill an incident happened involving the city's dam and They had to evacuate, the corporation paid reparations to the families and no one died, but everyone moved away and they never met again.

Untill years later when they received a link to confirm their participation on the selection process for a job in the Corporation, each character has their reasons to End up accepting It (some Really need a job, some Just want to go back to the city, etc), they will meet again in the selection process and join this version of Daydream INC

Now, what I need first are ideas for the Ghost Story of the selection process, because I cant Really use the First one in the novel, as the Only reason things worked for Kim Soleum was because he had outside information. I need the 6 players to manage an adventure where They can figure out the way to exit without meta information! Does anyone know a good one that could work as the selection process one? Or have an idea of your own?

Also, the secret plot of this game is that the players have a 7th friend whom was erased from their memories, as Children They got stuck in a Ghost story that was Very traumatizing and all of them but the 7th friend escapes, they had their memories of him erased, but he still remembers everything and later managed to leave the Ghost story as well, he is "contamined" and wants revenge on the 6 friends that in his mind "abandoned/betrayed" him, so he is the one who sent the link for them, as well as registering on the Corporation some years Ago, he is a supervisor now, whom will be in the "recruit training" team with the players.

He basically wants to make each of them get stuck/contamined in different stories and suffer as much as he did.

Anyway, do you guys have suggestions for this plot and which Ghost Stories would work well for this plot and in a TTRPG?

Basically the Idea is as follow, do you know How the Flying Bisons survived? So I have this Idea that they were released and sent away when the Fire Nation attacked, and in this AU some children escaped with them, Very few hidden in the bisons saddle. Lets say, like around 3/4/5 from each temple, in general, 10 escaped, all between 5-13 years old.

So They have been living in hidding with the bisons, in an isolated island, the oldest kids, Likely very traumatized from what happened, keep telling the younger kids that They must never leave their hidding place.

Since the ones who survive were all children, most of the airbending techniques is lost to them, but the culture still lives. They are however way more closed and serious than the OG airbenders, as well as more violent as the survivors literally saw their friends and Family be brutally killed in front of them, so They have the "we must do anything to survive" mind, and are way more dependent on each other.

100 years pass and this little secret place of them has held some generations of airbenders, They are still few, I would say like 20? Cause I believe most wouldnt have Children (trauma + their culture wasnt big on marriage and Family + the ones who decided to leave Early on to find out what happened outside and were killed), and some would die with time, so 100 years later and there is around 20 airbenders survivers around, only one of them, the Oldest there, is one of the OG Children that escaped.

The OC for this story would be Cheng, she is one of the New Generation who were born there, she is around 14yo, and dreams of becoming an actual master of air.

OC believes that They are letting their culture die by hiding there, as well Because of The dwiling numbers, and It has been a hundred years already so how bad is the situation even?

She decides to run away with the objective of finding the abandoned Air Temples and fully learn airbending, as well as their full History.

This would coincide with the start of ATLA and this OC would always be one step behind the Gaang without knowing of each other. The moment They leave the Southern Air Temple? She arrives there, etc.

The help I need here are mostly suggestions of where I could take the story? I feel stuck and it isnt Really going anywhere despite How much I love this Idea.

Honestly thinking about this recently bc of a fic Idea I had. But what do you genuinely think would have been Aang's, and the Gaang, reaction to find another Airbender?

Of course, It would depend of the moment in the Timeline, If It would be in book 1, 2 or 3, and around which episode.. So I ask, which one would be more Interesting? How much it would change Canon as well?
