What membership should I do?

Hi all so I've been going to the community gym for a few months now paying $20 a month and it's been nice, It's normally empty and calm but there are only 1 of each machine, with not much variety, and it's just small in size too.

I recently went to a crunch that's even closer to my house and I want to get a membership there. I want the base plan but I can't get the enrollment fee removed with the promo code unless I do the commitment version. What does that do, I've tried reading for the difference between that version and the no commitment version but I can't really tell. Am I still able to cancel whenever I want? I always hear people having problems with that.

Would I be better off doing the peak plan? I wouldn't really be using the classes, which seems to be the only difference between this and the base plan, and I would still have to pay the annual fee so it would be way more than what I'm paying for my gym now, even though it would be an upgrade gym wise. I've heard you can get the enrollment fee waived if you go in person but I want to be able to take my time and read though everything because they notoriously like to hide information and I'm not good at standing my ground in that type of way.

I guess I'm mainly trying to ask if it's worth getting the peak membership just to get the no commitment version or if I should just stick with my gym?

Side information: the main reasons I'm wanting to switch are; the community gym is about 15 minutes from my house while the crunch is about 5, there are way more types of machine in crunch and multiple of them at that, although there are more people in crunch, it is also about 5 or 6 times the size of my community gym so I feel it cancels out, and my friends go to this gym so we could meet up and workout together sometimes.
