New monitor resolution/scaling

I just got a new Dell UltraSharp 27" 4K HDR 120 Hz Monitor to replace an old Dell UltraSharp U2412M 24" LED LCD Monitor - 16:10 - 8 ms

The monitor is fine, but everything is fairly small. I recall normally being able to change the resolution (or whatever it's called) to make things bigger/smaller, but in system/display that field is grayed out. The only option not grayed out is Scale, but it warns me that i shouldn't change these settings unless i need to, it could make text/apps unreadable... Is it safe to try maybe 125% scaling? Or is there perhaps something else I can do with the monitor to make everything a bit larger? Alternatively should I leave it and perhaps I'll get used to it?

On a related note (maybe), I tried connecting via thunderbolt but it didn't work (monitor didn't think it was connected), so I used displayport instead, which worked instantly. Not sure if that has any effect on the resolution settings. Thank you.

How to automatically update transactions in Quicken Classic Deluxe

I googled this and the answer seemed to be that it just does it automatically once a day or whatnot. But in the program I see settings to schedule updates. So I'm not sure what I should be doing. I've only been using the program for a few days and it does update if I had it closed and then open it, but if I just leave it open all the time will it automatically update each night (or whenever), or do I need to setup a schedule? Thank you.

New to Quicken Classic Deluxe (coming from MS Money)

I just made the switch from ms money sunset (or whatever I've been managing to use for years and years) for 2 reasons; 1. I was tired of manually exporting/importing and 2. I got a new Win11 PC and while I mostly got MS Money working, I couldn't only get about 1/4 of the imports to work. I did extensive troubleshooting etc but no luck. In any case, that's not the point of this post.

I'm here to ask for help in setting up etrade brokerage accounts that also have a modest amount of debit/credit activity (paycheck and some other deposits, credit card debits, utility debits...).

I googled and ChatGPTed the heck out of it, and I did get the more advanced connection (Complete - positions and transactions) working with my brokerage (etrade). I have the accounts listed at the top of the left-hand nav bar under Banking as well as further down under Investing.

However, even in the banking section it only shows very minimal information (such as -$77.93, no payee or category). I separately have etrade bank accounts listed and they show full/proper activity, just like any other regular (Chase, B of A...) bank account.

Is there not a way to have etrade brokerages more properly show transactions, or am i doing something wrong?

Thank you.

Looking for new laptop with integrated graphics, 64gb ram, 2tb ssd, and 2nd ssd slot

  • Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: up to around $4k (work is paying for it)
  • Are you open to refurbs/used? new only
  • How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? definitely want good performance and build quality, battery not as important since it's mostly plugged in at my desk (also using external monitor and keyboard most of the time)
  • How important is weight and thinness to you? not important, but would be nice to be lighter/thinner, but really doesn't matter
  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. preferably 15-16"
  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. no, and only want integrated graphics
  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? n/a
  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? need it to have # pad to right of keyboard
  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Lenovo P16s for $3,700 is perfect except it doesn't have a 2nd ssd slot.

While our child does get emails/updates to their personal email, we want to make sure they aren't missing anything.

Thank you.
