One of my favorite moments (Sentry 2005 #6)

Whenever I read this moment in the comic it just makes my heart wrench. the way his psychologist asks him to heal his daughter, how he begs him, and then the reveal of her speaking and truly waking up.

it's a perfect example of what Sentry is and does, and how he sees himself. He knows he's all powerful, but he doesn't see himself as God. he knows he has flaws, maybe those flaws aren't his fault but he still has them and he can only do his best to manage, it makes him humble.

but it also shows how much he would like to fix every problem that exists in the world, he knows he has the ability to make life on earth heaven, a true utopia where everyone can be happy. but he doesn’t have the freedom to do so. because he knows whatever good he tries to do, he has to be on the lookout that void doesn't ruin it.(which he does)

and even despite all that, even with the conflicts and troubles that plague him he still heals her out of compassion, taking on whatever responsibility and repercussions it might bring.

it's one of the many reasons why I love Sentry and it shows how pure of heart the real Sentry is. and it also shows how whenever you write him well, you can create such well and deeply meaning scenes like these

Kinda wanted to make this because, in all fairness, the character outside his own comics only used to be treated as a deus ex machina mcguffin powerplay plot device, especially duirng bendis avengers. And that has obviously lead to most people only seeing him as a power scaling device(I'm not entirely innocent of that in the last either). So I wanna make posts more focused on different things of the character OTHER than his powers

Was Angel afraid of heights?

I forgot to write any context into my post, thought that I did. Basically with the research I've been doing for x men and mutants, I came across some sort of early thing that Angel used to be afraid of heights, during the original x men days wuth that yellow blue suit. Is that true?

My favorite version of the one above all

This comes from sensational spider man issue 40, around the time of civil war. And this here is literally the perfect version and depiction of thr one above all in my eyes.

He's kind, he comes across and is very ancient and otherworldly and omnipotent, but he also is reassuring and comforting. He wants to genuinely help Peter, but also have him grow and become stronger. He's honest with him, genuinely making and giving him hope and showing all the good Peter ever did. He isn't an asshole or talks in some weird incomprehensible mysterious way. He even levels with Peter and cares for him. He doesn't even appear as some insane grand figure, but as a simple man with normal clothing, only showing his true form a bit to confirm to Peter who he is. Also I love how he has a bit of humor and is relaxed, but has wisdom still passing on

I always hated the modern depiction of the one above all, he comes across like an ass and there is always some other force set up to be stronger than him or something. They literally use him as a powerscaling tool to show off how insane the new threat is or something, being depicted pretty weak. I wish we could see more of the sensational spider man one above all, having him interact with different characters would be awesome. In a way he reminds me a bit of Bruce almighty Morgan freeman god
