Kawasaki 1998 zx9r clutch cable issue

Recently I had a bike I bought over the fall and stored for the winter, brought it back out and when putting it in gear and giving it gas it did not move. Put it on the stand, tightened the cable, fixed the issue but caused a new one. I believe I only tighten it at the top because it’s still very loose at the bottom where the gear box is. Now it starts, drives in gear but when I let the clutch out no matter the speed it’s at the bike does and rear tire attempts to lock up, why is this?

1998 Kawasaki ninja zx-9r possible clutch issue after winter

Bought this zx9r for dirt cheap last fall before winter didn’t really get a chance to ride it a bunch before storing it for the winter. Got it back out a few weeks back and realize while I’m in gear it’s just not moving. Here while the back tires on the stand a few days ago perhaps it looks somewhat better but with a rider on I don’t think it would move I revved it up to 5-6k rpm’s in first gear here and it’s barely moving before the clutch slips and bike try’s dying. Is this a clutch gear box issue do I have to replace the gears? Bikes got 35k miles like I said got it for nothing so is that the issue replace that and I’m good to go?

Other things wrong with the bike previously, stator acting up possibly, looked like a dead battery so I replaced that didn’t have as many issues with the battery specifically when the bike starts I charge it biweekly now and it’s fine…

Looked like it was overheating while testing whether the gears were engaging- figure friction with clutch disks warms the oil up, causes some smoke which is what I was seeing and fan turned on after shutting bike off… that doesn’t happen much cause I just shut the bike off as soon as I see the clutch isn’t engaging in gear.

I’d appreciate any riders advice I’m still somewhat new at this I suppose
