Quack Quack put on a Duckbill

Picked this one up from ECS Tuning for $160 after tax and free shipping. Thought about carbon fiber but this was cheaper and matched the black package. Very easy to install, tape is pre installed, I would recommend getting a 3m adhesion promoter to make sure it sticks, and it’s currently sitting in the sun to let that cook a little and get it extra stuck. Cleaned the car right beforehand, just lined it up, taped it to the hood with painters tape, flipped it, ripped off the tape on the spoiler, plunked it down and pushed.

Definitely think it adds an appropriate amount of added aggression the GLI offers while still being restrained, which I do feel like fits the vibe of the car. It is a shame this isn’t included with a top of the line Autobahn or thrown in with the black package as I feel it does a lot to show “hey this is a somewhat special car”.

How did I do?

Questions about upgrading the audio

Hey everyone,

So I’ve got to the point where I am for the first time in my life considering upgrading a car stereo system. I have the 2026 GLI and yeah the “Volkswagen Premium Audio” just ain’t doing it for me, but at the same time I don’t wanna go too crazy. I am not interested in making the road thump behind me or taking up trunk space with a massive woofer, but I’d prefer it to sound not terrible. Just looking for some extra sharpness and clarity. Have absolutely no experience in this sphere and appreciate suggestions.

So at this moment I’m thinking I just wanna upgrade the four “main” speakers in the doors and leaving the pillar speakers and the small speakers in the rear door. I feel like that would help just make it sound “better” and not the muffled mess it sounds like now. If I just bought four quality speakers and replaced the four biggest speakers in the car, would that improve the situation keeping everything else stock? Would the stock amplifier be good enough for that? Is this something where I’d have to replace the stock amp as well? I’ve heard it’s a 400w Panasonic. Again not looking to blast the doors off, just want it to sound overall better (sorry if that’s vague). Also outside of the cost of the speakers what would you estimate is a fair price to pay for installation?

On that note if anyone else has done this I’d appreciate hearing what speakers you used for your upgrade.

Also with the super weird screw in subwoofer…thing in the spare tire area, that seems pretty proprietary and difficult to upgrade. I’ve seen the 3d printer one on a Reddit post here. That was for a 2023, anyone know if that same one will work on a 2026?

Thanks for the tips

So how much Horsepower do we really think it has?

26 GLI owner here. Never really owned a performance ish car like this before so I can’t comment other than I feel like this car is pretty fast. I’ve read/seen multiple reviews of the GLI that have stated that it feels like it’s got a bit more power than the listed 228HP, and reviews also mentioned that VW likes to give pretty conservative estimates on the HP numbers on a lot of their cars.

Like I said I don’t feel like I have the knowledge base to make an estimate. Maybe the high torque and the jolt when the acceleration kicks in adds to this feeling? Anyone dyno theirs to test this? General estimates are welcome too.
