Sprocket recommandations
Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice on sprocket setup for my Honda Transalp XL600V, mainly for lighter TET riding and mixed on/off-road use. Right now I’m thinking of keeping the stock-style 15-tooth front sprocket, but I’m planning to get a Superpinion sprocket from KK Bikes. For the rear, instead of staying with the stock 47T, I’m considering going to a 49T rear sprocket to get a bit more low-end control off-road. The bike will mostly see lighter TET terrain — gravel roads, sand, muddy sections, forest tracks, etc. No hardcore enduro or boulder-field stuff. What I’m wondering is: Has anyone here run a 15/49 setup on an XL600V? Does it noticeably improve low-speed/off-road riding? How much does it affect road manners and cruising comfort? Does it make highway riding annoying, or is it still fine for longer road sections? Any other gearing setups you’d recommend for this kind of mixed use? Would love to hear from people who actually ride their Transalp off-road or do TET-style trips with them. Thanks!
p.s. tire recommandations are always welcome :D
