Etymology

The Japanese names of "Sky Scourge" monsters are references to airborne ships or characters from Final Fantasy III.

The Japanese version of the "Sky Scourge" name, tenmashin, is a reference to the airborne ships from Final Fantasy III; mashin is partially homophonous with "machine", and ten means "sky", which combines with mashin to form "sky machine". All four monsters resemble shinigami.
